HOUSING DISCRETIONARY APPLICATION

THE COMPLETE PACKET WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE CHAPTER OFFICE 1 (ONE) DAY BEFORE THE PLANNING MEETING. CHAPTER STAFF WILL FORWARD THE NAMES OF INDIVIDUALS TO THE CHAPTER OFFICIALS

  • Housing Discretionary Application (Can be picked up at the chapter)
  • State Issued Driver License or ID
  •  Income Verification
  • Approved Homesite/Residential Lease
  • Social Security Card
  • Voter’s Registration Card

  • 3 Price Quotations (When Purchasing building material)(Not need for survey or Archaeological Clearance)
  • (Optional) Medical referrals

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

THE CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP IS OFFERED FOR THE FALL & SPRING SEMESTERS OF EACH ACADEMIC YEAR. THE OPENING DATES ARE IN THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PACKET. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Completed Scholarship Application (Can be picked up at the chapter)
  • Social Security Card
  • CIB
  • Valid State Drivers License/ID or School Issued ID
  • Voter Registration Card
  • Official High School or College/University Transcripts
  • Official Verification of Enrollment
  • Current Class Schedule
  • Signed Policies/Procedures
  • Authorization for Release of Information

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CHAPTER STAFF 1 (ONE) DAY BEFORE THE PLANNING MEETING. STAFF WILL FORWARD NAMES OF STUDENTS TO CHAPTER OFFICIALS WHO HAVE SUBMITTED A COMPLETE APPLCATION PACKET.

    APPLICANTS MUST BE REGISTERED FOR A MINIMUM OF 6 (SIX) MONTHS TO BE ELGIBLE FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CHAPTER. (THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CHAPTER STAFF.)

    WHL - senior Citizen center events

     Elders are able to dine in the Senior Center

    • Registering elders age 60+
    • Visit your Parents, Grandma, Grandpa & Naali’s.
    • Make sure they have firewood, food, water.
    • Please check on elders Regularly

       

      Preventative maintenance for homes

      SPRING:

      • Inspect roof for winter damage – Look for missing/damaged shingles or leaks
      • Clean gutters & downspouts– Prevents foundation issues
      • Check & Reseal exterior woodwork – Decks, hand rails, steps, fences, etc.
      • Inspect foundation for cracks – Seal and/or monitor as needed

      SUMMER:

      • Check & clean dryer vent– Prevent fire hazards & increase efficiency
      • Inspect windows & doors for leaks– Replace waether stripping/chaulking
      • Clean ceiling fans & reverse blades spin – Counter-clockwise for cooling

      FALL:

      • Service wood stove for winter use- Clean stove pipes, look for leaks

      About the Whitehorse Lake Chapter

      Whitehorse Lake Chapter is located in the Eastern Agency. It is 28 miles east of Crownpoint, New Mexico on Route 9.

      Whitehorse Lake Chapter conducts 2 monthly meetings (Planning & Regular) to keep constituents informed. The public forum is held to discuss and resolve any issues at the chapter level. Concerns and views are expressed directly to Officials, to improve local matters
